In the barber community I follow a company called TPOB. It’s run by a barber who started his own clipper company. He went to China and developed a clipper that’s faster, quieter, and cheaper than the other big clipper companies. He does everything anonymously, wearing a mask to hide his identity, yet he’s selling a million clippers per year. I mainly watch because it’s just him in all the videos, single-handedly fighting the system and winning. The benefit I get is educational, but it’s also about giving credit where credit is due. He’s a fine businessman and deserves more respect than he’s been given. He asks his followers what colors they want and what style they want for the next machine, giving people real options. On top of that, he offers barbers a chance to have a signature clipper by promoting his brand. There are very few things that grab my attention long-term, but this is one of them. 🍻
